Businesses that run on Telexico.
A few of the companies we look after — across hospitality, healthcare, property and retail.

Business Broadband pain points we hear every week.
If any of these feel familiar, it's not a tech problem — it's a provider problem.
"Our broadband drops twice a day."
Card machines down. Calls disconnect. Cloud apps freeze mid-action. Residential-grade lines pretending to be business.
"We share our connection with the flats above."
Peak hours? Forget it. Streaming next door takes priority over your business taking payments.
"Our upload speed cripples our cloud apps."
10 Mbps up isn't enough for VoIP, video calls, and cloud backups all at once. You bought a domestic package by mistake.
"The current provider blames our equipment."
Every fault ticket starts with 'have you tried turning it off and on again.' Two-hour calls. No resolution.
"We have no backup when the line cuts."
One fibre cut last month. Three hours offline. Lost an estimated £800 in trade. No failover, no SLA, no recourse.
"We are tied to a residential contract."
No SLAs. No business-grade support. CGNAT breaking your VPN. Time to grow up onto proper business broadband.
Business Broadband done properly.
What you get when Telexico builds it.
Full fibre to your premises
FTTP delivers symmetrical speeds up to 1 Gbps — no contention with neighbours, no copper bottleneck.
Leased lines for serious throughput
Dedicated, uncontended bandwidth with SLAs measured in minutes, not days. For businesses where uptime is non-negotiable.
4G/5G failover included
Automatic switchover keeps you online when the fibre cuts. Card machines and VoIP stay live until the line restores.
Static IPs and business SLAs
No CGNAT. Proper static IPs for VPNs and remote access. SLAs that mean we pay if we miss them.
Speed test we actually meet
We quote you the speed we'll deliver. We don't pretend 1 Gbps if your line will only give 200. Honest pre-survey, honest install.
UK support that knows fibre
Real engineers who understand business broadband. Not a Mumbai call centre reading from a residential script.
Built for businesses that need reliability, speed and control.
FTTP — fibre all the way to your door.
Full fibre (FTTP) is the gold standard for UK business broadband in 2026. Pure fibre directly into your premises — no copper bottleneck, no contention with neighbours, symmetrical upload speeds matching download. We design every package around the right delivery technology for your postcode and operational requirements.
Ethernet leased lines — your private internet circuit.
When your business outgrows shared fibre — when you have 30+ staff, run hosted PBX, host servers on-premises, or simply cannot afford an outage — a dedicated leased line is the right move. Symmetric, uncontended, single-tenant, SLA-backed.
Symmetric 100Mbps – 10Gbps
Equal upload and download. Single-tenant infrastructure — your bandwidth is yours alone, not shared with other businesses or households on the same exchange.
99.99% uptime SLA
Service-level agreement backed by financial penalties to the carrier if missed. Typical leased line delivers 99.99%+ availability — measured in minutes of downtime per year, not days.
4-hour engineer SLA
If a leased line fault occurs, a carrier engineer is on-site within 4 working hours. Compare to standard FTTP fault fix of 1-3 working days.
Multi-site MPLS networks
For businesses with multiple offices, leased lines connect into a private MPLS network — every site sees every other site as if on the same LAN. Voice, video and data all prioritised.
Ethernet over fibre (EoFTTC) entry point
Cost-effective leased-line product for smaller offices needing SLAs without full Ethernet pricing. 20Mbps - 80Mbps symmetric with proper business support.
Wavelength / Dark Fibre options
For data-intensive operations (broadcast, finance, healthcare imaging) we can specify wavelength services or dark fibre with custom managed optics.
Business broadband isn't residential internet with a different label.
Modern businesses depend on connectivity for cloud platforms, VoIP phone systems, video meetings, VPN and remote access, EPOS and card payment systems, CCTV uploads, AI-powered tools and multi-site networking. Each of these has different upload, latency and uptime requirements that residential broadband simply isn't engineered for. Reliable business broadband is the foundation for modern <a href="/voip-phone-systems.html">business phone systems</a>, <a href="/hosted-voip.html">hosted VoIP</a> and Microsoft Teams calling — Telexico delivers both layers under one engineering relationship.
Cloud platform reliability
Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Xero, Salesforce, your CRM — all dependent on stable connectivity. A 30-second drop reloads every staff member's session. Business broadband is engineered for consistent uptime, not just peak speed.
VoIP and SIP traffic
VoIP calls need stable upload bandwidth and low jitter. A residential line that 'tests fine' at 100Mbps can still produce broken calls because the upload path is congested. Business broadband prioritises voice traffic via QoS.
EPOS and card payments
Stripe terminals, Square readers, traditional PDQ machines — all need persistent internet to authorise payments. A 30-second outage at lunch service means a queue of customers walking out without paying.
VPN and remote access
Staff working from home, accessing on-premises systems, connecting to head office — VPN requires stable concurrent bandwidth and uptime. Residential lines drop the VPN multiple times daily; business broadband holds the tunnel.
CCTV cloud uploads
Modern Hikvision and Ajax systems back up footage to the cloud. That's a continuous upload stream of 5-20Mbps from each site. Residential upload caps can't support multi-camera business CCTV.
Multi-site networking
Linking shops, offices or warehouses requires inter-site bandwidth that residential broadband can't deliver. Business broadband supports VPN tunnels, MPLS connections and SD-WAN configurations.
Who business broadband is for.
Telexico installs business broadband for organisations across every UK commercial sector. The technical specification differs between a 4-person dental practice and a 200-staff warehouse — but the underlying need for reliability is universal.

What speed does your business actually need?
The most common broadband mistake isn't buying too little — it's buying blind. Speed requirements are about how many people are online at once and what they're doing, not the biggest number on the price list. Here's the honest sizing guide we use with our own customers:
| Your setup | Realistic need | Right connection |
|---|---|---|
| 1–5 people, email, cloud apps, card machine | 80–150Mbps | FTTP (or SoGEA where full fibre hasn't arrived) |
| 5–15 people, VoIP calls, video meetings, cloud backups | 150–500Mbps with decent upload | FTTP, with 4G/5G failover if the phone matters |
| 15–50 people, heavy cloud use, CCTV uploads, multiple VoIP lines | 500Mbps–1Gbps, upload becomes critical | FTTP top tier, or a leased line if downtime costs money |
| Connectivity-critical: contact centres, multi-site, e-commerce ops | Guaranteed symmetrical bandwidth with an SLA | Dedicated leased line + independent failover |
| Rural or temporary site where fibre can't reach | 100–250Mbps | Starlink for Business, professionally installed |
Two rules of thumb worth keeping. First: upload speed is the number businesses forget — VoIP calls, cloud backups, CCTV and video meetings all push data up, and it's upload that makes a cheap connection feel broken. Second: a video call uses roughly 3–4Mbps and a VoIP call barely 0.1Mbps, so raw download speed is rarely the real constraint — consistency is. That's why we test before we recommend, rather than selling whatever's biggest.
Every business connection type, compared honestly
There are really only five ways to connect a UK business in 2026. Each has a legitimate use — and a wrong use that providers will happily sell you anyway. Here's the whole landscape on one table:
| Connection | Typical speed | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| FTTP full fibre | 100Mbps–1Gbps+ down | The default choice wherever it's available | Upload lower than download; shared (contended) at peak |
| SoGEA | Up to ~80Mbps | A clean stop-gap where full fibre hasn't been built yet | Copper-era speeds; treat it as interim, not destination |
| Leased line / DIA | 100Mbps–10Gbps symmetrical, guaranteed | Businesses where downtime or slow uploads cost real money | Higher cost; 2–12 week install because it's built for you |
| Starlink for Business | ~100–250Mbps | Rural sites, construction, events, fibre-independent backup | Latency higher than fibre; severe weather can nibble at it |
| 4G/5G failover | Varies by signal | Keeping you trading when the main line fails | A safety net, not a primary connection for most premises |
The honest pattern for most businesses: FTTP as the workhorse, 4G/5G failover as the seatbelt, and a step up to a leased line only when the numbers justify it — we'll show you the like-for-like maths in a quote rather than guessing. Deeper dives: leased line vs FTTP, FTTP vs SoGEA, Starlink vs fibre, and business internet vs business broadband.
What does business broadband cost?
Straight answer: business full fibre typically costs a modest monthly fee — usually less than most firms spend on coffee — while dedicated leased lines sit in a different bracket because you're buying guaranteed, uncontended bandwidth with a repair SLA. The spread between providers on a like-for-like product is smaller than the adverts suggest; the real differences hide in the line items below:
| What moves the price | What to check before signing |
|---|---|
| Speed tier | Pay for the tier your team needs (see the sizing table above), not the biggest number on the page. |
| Contract length | Longer terms cut the monthly price — fine if the service is good, painful if it isn't. Check the exit terms first, not after. |
| Static IP | Essential for CCTV, VPNs and hosting anything — often bundled, sometimes a small extra. We include what you need. |
| Router quality | A free router that can't handle your load is expensive. Business-grade hardware is worth the small difference. |
| Install & activation | Often free on standard installs; leased lines may need construction charges — we tell you before, not after the dig. |
| Support level | The cheapest deal with offshore ticket-queue support costs you the first time it breaks on a Friday afternoon. |

Switching provider: what actually happens
The fear that keeps businesses on bad broadband is downtime. Here's the actual sequence when you move to Telexico — designed so the day you switch is boring:
1. Survey and honest recommendation. We check exactly what your postcode supports — FTTP, SoGEA, leased line options — and test what your current line really delivers. If your existing deal is genuinely good, we'll tell you that too.
2. We handle the switch admin. Provider notifications, number and service coordination, engineer booking where needed. You carry on trading; the paperwork is ours.
3. Parallel cut-over. Wherever possible the new connection goes live and is tested before the old one is ceased — so the switch itself is a router swap, not a gap. If your business can't tolerate even minutes offline, we stage a 4G/5G failover to bridge it.
4. Aftercare that answers. UK-based support from the Wolverhampton team, monitoring on request, and one bill that a human can explain.
One more reason timing matters: the UK's old analogue phone network is being withdrawn, with full switch-off expected by 2027 — anything still running on legacy lines (phones, alarms, card machines, lifts) needs a migration plan. Moving your broadband is the natural moment to sort all of it in one calm project rather than a last-minute scramble. Our PSTN switch-off guide covers exactly what to check.
How to judge any business broadband provider — including us
Use this checklist on every quote you get, ours included. One — do they survey before they sell? A provider who quotes without checking your postcode's actual options is selling a product, not a solution. Two — is upload speed on the quote? If it's missing, that's usually because it's embarrassing. Three — what's the realistic fix time when it breaks? "Business support" should mean a named team and a straight answer, not a ticket number and a prayer. Four — is failover offered, or even mentioned? Any provider serious about business continuity raises it before you do. Five — are the exit terms readable? Confidence in a service shows in how easy they make it to leave. Six — can one supplier carry the lot? Broadband, phones, WiFi and CCTV on one bill means one number to call and no finger-pointing between suppliers when something misbehaves.
We built Telexico to score well on that list because those six points are, word for word, the complaints that bring businesses to us from the big providers.

Frequently asked questions
What speeds can I actually get at my postcode?
We run a proper pre-install survey. Full fibre (FTTP) is now available at most UK postcodes — usually 100Mbps to 1Gbps symmetrical. If your line can only support FTTC (older copper), we tell you straight. Leased lines are available everywhere but cost more and take longer to install.
How is business broadband different from residential?
Static IPs (vs CGNAT), guaranteed SLAs, priority routing, business-grade support, no fair-use throttling, and reliable upload speeds. Business broadband is engineered for VoIP, cloud apps, video calls and uploads — the things your business actually needs.
Do I need a leased line or will full fibre do?
Most businesses are fine on FTTP. You need a leased line if: you have 30+ users hammering the connection, you depend on it for revenue, or you need contractual uptime SLAs.
How long is installation?
Full fibre on existing duct work: 7-14 days. New duct work or leased lines: 21-45 days. We give you a realistic date during the survey, not a sales-team fantasy.
Will I have any downtime when switching?
No. We install the new connection alongside your existing one, test it, then port your services across. Your current line stays live until the new one is proven.
What happens if my fibre cuts?
4G/5G failover kicks in automatically — usually within 30 seconds. Your VoIP phones, card machines and cloud apps keep working. We restore the main fibre as fast as Openreach permits.
Do you cover my area?
We install nationwide. West Midlands is our home turf so we have engineers on the road there daily, but we have customers from Glasgow to Cornwall.
Can Telexico support multi-site businesses?
Yes — multi-site is a core specialism. One Telexico account covering every location, single point of contact, central VoIP and consistent network architecture across sites. We design the WAN, install the connectivity, and project-manage the rollout regardless of how geographically spread the sites are.
Can I switch from BT Business, Virgin Media Business or TalkTalk?
Yes — switching is straightforward. We handle the contract audit, notice timing, line ordering, parallel running, cutover and old-provider close-out. Customer-visible disruption is typically measured in minutes. Most customers save 15-30% versus their existing setup.
Do you provide UK-wide business broadband installs?
Yes. Business broadband installs are project-managed centrally regardless of postcode. West Midlands sites get a Telexico engineer on-site; sites elsewhere get a vetted partner engineer working to the same Telexico install standard. Same SLAs apply UK-wide.
How much does business broadband cost per month?
Business full fibre typically runs at a modest monthly cost depending on speed tier and contract, while dedicated leased lines cost more because bandwidth is guaranteed and uncontended with a repair SLA. We quote itemised — speed, router, static IP, support — so you can compare like for like. See our business broadband cost guide or get a 60-second quote for your postcode.
Do I need a static IP address?
If you run CCTV you view remotely, a VPN for home workers, or host anything on-site, yes — a static IP makes those reliable. If you purely use cloud apps, you can live without one. We include a static IP where your setup needs it rather than selling it as a mystery extra.
What's the difference between SoGEA and FTTP?
FTTP is fibre all the way to your premises — the fast, future-proof option. SoGEA is broadband over the existing copper line without a phone service attached: a sensible interim where full fibre hasn't been built yet. If FTTP is available at your postcode, take it; if not, SoGEA keeps you properly connected with an easy upgrade path.
Why does our broadband slow down at certain times of day?
That's contention — shared connections carry many businesses and homes, so peak periods can dip. Good business-grade broadband keeps this modest; a dedicated leased line eliminates it entirely because the bandwidth is yours alone. If afternoon slowdowns are costing you, that's usually the signal to either move up a tier or price a leased line.
Can we switch without losing our phone number or email?
Yes. Phone numbers port across with no loss — customers dial exactly what they always have. Email only ties you to a provider if you're using their branded email address; if so, we'll help you move to proper business email on your own domain, which you should own anyway.
Is 4G/5G failover worth it for a small business?
If an internet outage would stop you taking payments, calls or bookings — yes, and it costs far less than the first lost afternoon. Failover switches over automatically when the main line drops, then switches back. For most small businesses it's the single cheapest piece of resilience you can buy.
