How it connects

Fibre to the building, managed to the desk.

Full fibre (FTTP) runs fibre all the way into your premises over the Openreach or CityFibre network. Telexico supplies the managed router, checks what each carrier can deliver at your postcode and keeps it monitored.

The reality

Full Fibre Broadband pain points we hear every week.

If any of these feel familiar, it's not a tech problem — it's a provider problem.

"My current 'fibre' broadband only delivers 40Mbps."

That's FTTC — fibre to the green cabinet, then copper to your office. "Fibre" branding has been abused for a decade. True FTTP is fibre to your actual building.

"Upload speed cripples our cloud apps."

Most FTTC packages give you 10-15Mbps upload. Try doing VoIP + cloud backups + Teams calls + Microsoft 365 sync simultaneously on that. FTTP download and upload speeds depend on the network and product; symmetrical options are available on qualifying services.

"We share infrastructure with the houses around us."

FTTC and copper-based packages contend with neighbours on the same exchange. Peak hours = degraded performance. FTTP is your fibre, not shared neighbourhood fibre.

"My old provider quoted 'up to 1Gbps' but I get 200."

"Up to" is the oldest broadband con. The line genuinely can't deliver 1Gbps. We do a real pre-install survey and quote what your line will actually deliver.

"Adding bandwidth means a new install."

On FTTC, going from 40Mbps to 80Mbps might need a new cabinet visit. On FTTP, we typically just upgrade your package — the fibre can already deliver more.

"My provider has no idea what FTTP coverage means."

BT/Sky/TalkTalk reseller call centres don't know which postcodes have Openreach FTTP vs which have CityFibre coming vs which are still copper. We do.

What we install

Full Fibre Broadband done properly.

What you get when Telexico builds it.

Real FTTP — symmetrical options available

100Mbps to 1Gbps symmetric. Equal upload and download. The performance buyers actually need for VoIP, cloud apps, hosted services and modern business workflows.

Multi-carrier coverage

Openreach FTTP (widest UK coverage), CityFibre full fibre (alt-net challenger, fastest install in covered postcodes), Hyperoptic, gigabit alt-nets where they exist. We survey ALL options at your postcode.

Honest pre-install survey

We tell you what's actually available — not what the salesperson wishes was available. Often we find FTTP options the previous provider's reseller didn't know existed.

Static IP + business SLA

Every Telexico FTTP package includes a static public IP (no CGNAT), business-grade SLA, priority fault fix. The features that residential FTTP lacks.

Easy bandwidth scaling

Start at 100Mbps, scale to 500Mbps or 1Gbps as you grow — usually a 24-hour portal action with no rewiring. The fibre can carry more whenever you need it.

Faster install than FTTC

Where FTTP is available, install is usually 7-14 days. Faster than waiting for FTTC slots in many cases. We project-manage Openreach so you don't have to.

Carriers we deploy

Every UK FTTP option — assessed at your postcode.

Different parts of the UK have different best-options for full fibre. We're carrier-neutral — we install whatever delivers the right business outcome at your specific postcode. Openreach is widest, CityFibre is fastest where present, Hyperoptic is strongest in dense urban deployments. Whichever carrier the install runs on, the underlying full fibre connectivity is engineered to support your business phone systems, hosted VoIP and Microsoft Teams calling cleanly — voice quality is decided by the network underneath, not the platform on top.

Openreach FTTP

Widest UK coverage — 12+ million premises connected, target 25 million by end of 2026. Standard PSTN-replacement path. Used by most ISPs (BT, Sky, TalkTalk, Vodafone resell it). We install Openreach FTTP via our wholesale relationships at honest prices.

CityFibre full fibre

Alt-net challenger covering 150+ UK towns. Faster install than Openreach (because separate network, fewer queues). Symmetric 100Mbps-1Gbps. Particularly strong in the West Midlands — Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Walsall, Dudley all on CityFibre footprint.

Hyperoptic

Multi-tenant building specialist — dense urban deployments in apartment blocks, shared office buildings, business parks. 1Gbps standard, 10Gbps optional. Strong in London, Manchester, Birmingham.

Gigaclear (rural)

Rural full fibre specialist — full fibre to villages and small towns Openreach hasn't reached yet. Strong in Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire rural areas.

Community Fibre, Trooli, Glide

Regional alt-nets serving specific UK areas. We carry wholesale relationships with multiple alt-nets so you get the best option at your postcode, not just whichever one our sales team prefers.

Reseller-agnostic comparison

Most ISPs are resellers of one wholesale network. We compare Openreach + CityFibre + Hyperoptic + alt-nets together and quote the best fit. No reseller bias — we make money the same way whichever you choose.

Performance you can rely on

What FTTP actually delivers vs FTTC + copper.

The numbers below are real average performance figures, not marketing best-case. FTTP isn't just "faster broadband" — it's a fundamentally different infrastructure that solves problems FTTC simply can't.

✓FTTP: 100-1000Mbps symmetric typical
✓FTTC: 30-80Mbps down, 10-20Mbps up
✓FTTP latency: 8-15ms typical
✓FTTC latency: 12-25ms with copper variation
✓FTTP jitter: 1-3ms typical
✓FTTC jitter: variable, often 5-15ms
✓FTTP packet loss: <0.01% typical
✓FTTC packet loss: 0.1-1% common
✓FTTP supports VoIP for 50+ users
✓FTTC supports VoIP for ~10-15 users
✓FTTP scales to 10Gbps in same fibre
✓FTTC tops out at 80Mbps physical limit
✓FTTP resilient to weather (sealed fibre)
✓FTTC degrades in wet weather (copper)
✓FTTP future-proof for 20+ years
✓FTTC end-of-life by 2028

Speeds are the download speeds achieved by at least 50% of customers at peak time (8pm to 10pm) across the network. Speed can be affected by technical and environmental factors; the speed you receive may be lower or higher. Full-fibre speeds are estimated. Leased-line speeds are the agreed bearer and bandwidth.

Fibre that stays up.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How is FTTP different from FTTC? +

FTTC (fibre-to-the-cabinet) brings fibre to a street cabinet, then copper telephone wire to your building. That copper limits speeds to ~80Mbps max and degrades over distance. FTTP (fibre-to-the-premises) brings pure fibre all the way to your building — no copper bottleneck, symmetrical speeds, future-proof technology.

Is FTTP available at my postcode? +

Increasingly, yes. Openreach is rolling out FTTP nationwide (target 25 million premises by 2026). CityFibre is the biggest alt-net challenger — full fibre in 150+ UK towns including most of the West Midlands. We check ALL carriers at your postcode and tell you honestly what's available.

How much does FTTP cost? +

100Mbps FTTP business package: £30-50/month. 500Mbps: £50-75/month. 1Gbps: £75-150/month. Pricing depends on carrier, contract term and bundled extras. We quote the all-in cost, including router, static IP and any survey fees.

What if my building isn't FTTP-connected? +

Three options: (1) wait for Openreach roll-out at your address — we can give you the official date; (2) order a leased line instead, which we can deliver almost anywhere; (3) use 4G/5G business broadband as an interim until FTTP arrives.

Will my VoIP work better on FTTP? +

Significantly. VoIP is sensitive to upload bandwidth, latency consistency and jitter — all of which FTTP delivers far better than FTTC. Hosted VoIP, Teams calling and video conferencing all benefit from FTTP.

Can I keep my number if I switch from BT/Sky/TalkTalk? +

Yes — number porting is standard. Your existing landline numbers move to Telexico's FTTP package (or to our hosted VoIP platform if you're also upgrading phones). Old service stays live during port.

What router do you supply? +

Business-grade router as standard — typically Draytek 2865 or Cisco Meraki Z3 depending on package. Static IP supported, WPA3 WiFi, VLAN-capable, suitable for hosting VoIP and remote-access VPN. Not a basic residential router.
