Will it work with my EPOS and card payments?
Yes — Square, Lightspeed, Vend, Shopify POS, Sumup, Worldpay, Stripe and most other UK retail payment systems run cleanly on properly-sized business broadband with the right network setup. We separate payment traffic from guest WiFi via VLAN.
How does failover protect card payments?
When the main fibre drops, the router switches automatically to 4G or 5G within 30 seconds. Card machines reconnect, EPOS continues, business carries on. Most customers don't notice. Without failover, the same outage closes the shop until an engineer arrives.
What speed do I actually need?
Single-till independent shop: 75-150Mbps. Multi-till shop with cloud EPOS and busy guest WiFi: 200-300Mbps. Multi-site with central stock and CCTV upload: depends on traffic volume — we size from your actual operation.
Can you link multiple branches?
Yes — SD-WAN connects multiple sites into one virtual network. Useful for central stock visibility, central reporting, consolidated management. Adding new branches is template-based once the first few are running.
What about CCTV and security systems?
Most retail CCTV uses on-site NVR with bandwidth only for remote viewing — fits comfortably in a properly-sized connection. Cloud-only CCTV systems need more upload bandwidth — we size for it specifically.
Can you handle Christmas or Black Friday traffic spikes?
Yes — we design with peak-period traffic in mind, including extra capacity for cloud EPOS, payment processing and guest WiFi during high-traffic periods. Some retailers temporarily boost their plan for November-December — we make that easy.
What if I'm in a postcode with limited fibre?
We check Openreach, Cityfibre and Virgin availability before quoting. For postcodes with poor fibre, 4G/5G primary connections work for many smaller retailers — surprisingly capable, properly sized. Starlink also possible for rural or new-build retail.
