How it works and why it beats the debrief

A supervisor joins a live call in whisper mode: the agent hears them, the caller hears nothing. 'Offer the annual rate.' 'That's a porting question — say we handle it.' The new starter gets steered during the call that matters instead of debriefed after the deal died. It sits in a family of three: monitor (listen only), whisper (coach the agent), and barge (join the call three-way when it needs a manager now). Together they turn every real call into training material without a role-play in sight.

Used well, not creepily

The honest rules: staff know the capability exists and why (development, not surveillance); it concentrates on onboarding and complaint escalation; and it pairs with recording so the great save becomes next week's example. Businesses that use whisper properly onboard phone staff in half the time — the confidence of knowing help can arrive silently changes how new people handle hard calls. Available on our cloud systems with supervisor permissions, switchable per team.

Frequently asked questions

Can the caller ever hear the whisper?

No — whisper audio routes only to the agent's ear. The caller's line carries only the normal conversation.

Do staff have to be told?

Capability transparency is both right and legally sensible — teams should know monitoring tools exist and their purpose. In-the-moment whispers don't need announcing, the capability does.

What if the call needs a manager to take over?

That's barge — the supervisor joins audibly, three-way, and can take the call. Monitor, whisper, barge: escalating involvement, one keypress apart.
