The Telexico failover router has a primary fixed connection (any broadband or leased line) and a secondary cellular data connection. If the primary fails, the secondary takes over instantly and seamlessly: even a phone call in progress does not drop. When the fixed line returns, it switches back.

Is 5G available at my address?
Maybe — UK 5G coverage is rolling out but uneven. Telexico tests coverage from all major networks during the survey and tells you honestly what's deliverable. Sometimes 5G is excellent; sometimes only 4G is viable; sometimes Starlink is the better option.
What speeds does 5G failover deliver?
Where coverage is strong: typically 200-500Mbps down, 50-100Mbps up. In dense urban areas with mid-band 5G: sometimes higher. In areas with low-band 5G only: closer to 4G performance. Coverage testing is critical.
What's the latency like?
Typical 10-30ms — excellent for VoIP, video conferencing, real-time applications. Lower than 4G (30-60ms) and approaching fibre (5-15ms).
Is 5G failover better than Starlink?
Different trade-offs. 5G is faster than Starlink (typically), cheaper monthly, lower latency — BUT shares cellular infrastructure with potentially fragile regional dependencies. Starlink is slower than strong 5G but genuinely diverse from UK terrestrial infrastructure. We recommend based on your operational priorities.
How much does 5G failover cost?
