🏢 Telexico Communications Ltd 📶 5G business failover in the UK 🇬🇧 UK business telecoms 📍 Wolverhampton
The reality

What we hear every week.

The frustrations behind why businesses search for 5g business failover in the first place. If any of these feel familiar, the fix is straightforward.

📡

5G coverage is patchy across the UK

5G is rolling out across UK cities but coverage is uneven — strong in some city centres, missing in suburbs and towns. Address check before recommending.

When available, 5G delivers near-fibre speeds

Where 5G coverage is strong, real-world speeds can match or exceed FTTC and approach FTTP — making it a serious failover option rather than a degraded backup.

🤔

Choice between 4G, 5G and Starlink isn't obvious

5G coverage available at your address? 4G coverage? Starlink line-of-sight? The right answer varies. We assess all options and recommend honestly.

💷

5G failover often costs similar to 4G

5G SIM plans aren't dramatically more expensive than 4G — making 5G failover a sensible upgrade where coverage supports it.

How it works

5G failover, deployed where coverage supports it

Telexico deploys 5G failover where the address has strong 5G coverage from at least one major UK network. We test coverage during survey, supply 5G business-grade SIM(s), configure dual-WAN failover policy on the managed router, integrate with hosted VoIP. Where 5G coverage is excellent, the failover delivers very high speeds (often 200Mbps+) and low latency — making the backup nearly indistinguishable from the primary fibre during failover events. Where 5G isn't yet available, 4G failover or Starlink are the alternatives.

What you get

The Telexico approach to 5g business failover.

Six things our customers consistently tell us matter.

Near-fibre speeds during failover

Where 5G coverage is strong, 200-500Mbps real-world speeds are common — operations don't notice the failover.

🚀

Very low latency

5G latency typically 10-30ms — excellent for VoIP, video calls, real-time applications.

📡

Best 5G network for your address

We test all major UK 5G networks (EE, Vodafone, Three, O2) and pick what performs best at your specific site.

📞

VoIP works flawlessly on 5G failover

Low latency plus high upload plus QoS on the managed router — voice quality during 5G failover is excellent.

💷

Sensible monthly cost

5G business SIM plans typically £35-100 monthly — meaningful improvement over 4G for moderate uplift in cost.

🛡️

Telexico monitoring and support

Failover events monitored, alerts sent, primary restoration worked on actively. UK support.

Consultative, not commodity

Built where 5G actually delivers

5G coverage in the UK isn't uniform — strong in some city centres, weaker in suburbs and many towns. We don't push 5G failover where coverage doesn't support it. Where coverage is genuinely strong, 5G is often the best mid-cost failover option — significantly faster than 4G, cheaper than Starlink, much cheaper than a second fibre line.

Real examples

How it works for businesses like yours.

Three real-world setups we deliver across the UK.

🏢

City-centre offices with strong 5G

Professional services, agencies, tech SMEs in city centres with strong 5G — failover that performs almost like the primary.

🛍️

Town-centre retail and hospitality

Where 5G is rolling out into towns — retail, restaurants, hotels — high-speed failover that doesn't degrade customer experience.

🏥

Healthcare and customer-facing operations

Clinics, professional services with patient or client-facing operations — 5G failover keeps everything running at near-primary quality.

Trust + support

Why UK businesses choose Telexico for 5G failover

We test coverage honestly and recommend 5G where it genuinely fits — otherwise 4G, Starlink or second fibre. UK provider, UK engineers, UK support. One Telexico provider for the failover plus primary plus phones plus WiFi.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is 5G available at my address? +

Maybe — UK 5G coverage is rolling out but uneven. Telexico tests coverage from all major networks during the survey and tells you honestly what's deliverable. Sometimes 5G is excellent; sometimes only 4G is viable; sometimes Starlink is the better option.

What speeds does 5G failover deliver? +

Where coverage is strong: typically 200-500Mbps down, 50-100Mbps up. In dense urban areas with mid-band 5G: sometimes higher. In areas with low-band 5G only: closer to 4G performance. Coverage testing is critical.

What's the latency like? +

Typical 10-30ms — excellent for VoIP, video conferencing, real-time applications. Lower than 4G (30-60ms) and approaching fibre (5-15ms).

Is 5G failover better than Starlink? +

Different trade-offs. 5G is faster than Starlink (typically), cheaper monthly, lower latency — BUT shares cellular infrastructure with potentially fragile regional dependencies. Starlink is slower than strong 5G but genuinely diverse from UK terrestrial infrastructure. We recommend based on your operational priorities.

How much does 5G failover cost? +

Typical monthly £35-100 for the business SIM plus data allowance. Plus one-off install £100-250 covering router upgrade if needed and configuration. Sensible spend for the operational uplift over 4G.

Can 5G be a primary instead of failover? +

Yes — at addresses with very strong 5G coverage and no viable fibre, 5G primary plus optional satellite backup is a workable architecture. Less common than fibre primary but increasingly viable.

Does 5G work with hosted VoIP? +

Excellently — the low latency and high upload of 5G are well-suited to hosted VoIP. We configure QoS on the managed router so voice gets priority. Many Telexico 5G-failover customers actually prefer voice quality during failover to their primary fibre line.
