What speeds does 5G failover deliver?
Where coverage is strong: typically 200-500Mbps down, 50-100Mbps up. In dense urban areas with mid-band 5G: sometimes higher. In areas with low-band 5G only: closer to 4G performance. Coverage testing is critical.
What's the latency like?
Typical 10-30ms — excellent for VoIP, video conferencing, real-time applications. Lower than 4G (30-60ms) and approaching fibre (5-15ms).
Is 5G failover better than Starlink?
Different trade-offs. 5G is faster than Starlink (typically), cheaper monthly, lower latency — BUT shares cellular infrastructure with potentially fragile regional dependencies. Starlink is slower than strong 5G but genuinely diverse from UK terrestrial infrastructure. We recommend based on your operational priorities.
