Onecom alternative: read the General Terms first.
Onecom is one of the UK’s largest independent business telecoms groups, built through fourteen acquisitions since 2020 and best known for Vodafone business mobile. If you are looking for an alternative to Onecom, the published General Terms tell you most of what you need to know before you compare prices.
Providers are compared on what each publishes: list prices and the conditions attached to them, minimum terms and mid-contract rises, what the price includes (calls, set-up, porting, support hours), UK-based support, and whether failover is offered. Telexico’s own entries are our list prices. Where a provider has changed its terms since the date shown, the published source wins; tell us and we will correct it.

Onecom in 2026.
Onecom Ltd is based at Whiteley near Fareham, is backed by private equity (LDC) and in April 2026 reported around 900 staff, £220m revenue and 65,000 UK business customers. It has bought fourteen companies since 2020, including On-Site Connect, Excalibur, Daly Systems and Gradwell (July 2025), and appointed a new chief executive in April 2026.
It sells Vodafone-led business mobile, its own Vox and Vox One hosted voice, Wave (from Gradwell), Zoom Phone, Teams Phone Mobile and 3CX, plus broadband, Ethernet, SD-WAN, IT support and contact-centre platforms. Its public-sector listing shows it also resells Gamma Horizon, 8x8 and Avaya.
What to check in a Onecom contract.
Taken from Onecom’s own published terms and prices on the dates shown. Clauses change; read the version attached to your order.
CPI + 3.9% each April, with no exit right
Onecom’s General Terms (4 June 2026) increase charges each April by the January CPI figure “plus 3.9%”, and state that “If the CPI rate is a negative or 0, Charges will be increased by 3.9%”. The terms say this increase does not give you a right to terminate. Small-business regulated contracts signed from 17 January 2025 vary only as set out in the order form.
Notice: 30 days or 90 days depending on the product
After the Minimum Term the contract continues until terminated. Notice is 30 days for small-business regulated products, but 90 days for dedicated internet, Fibre Ethernet and non-regulated products, and it must expire on the last day of a month.
Termination charges at the undiscounted rate, plus subsidy clawback
Termination charges are the recurring charges to the end of the Minimum Term “excluding any Discount”, plus a Subsidy Recovery Charge equal to “the total Subsidy paid or provided… plus the administration charge” where a Technology Fund or similar was used.
Fees in the price guide
Onecom’s June 2026 price guide lists an order-cancellation charge of £495 for small businesses, cease administration of £100, hosted cease fees of £150 (up to 10 users) or £500 (11 or more), and £200 for a non-returned router or £150 per handset.
Regulator attention on sales practices
Ofcom records (FOI responses of October 2024 and May 2026) show it “engaged with them over concerns raised through our complaints monitoring” about sales practices, that Onecom “revised its processes and information to consumers”, and that Ofcom is not formally investigating.
Onecom and Telexico, on the points that decide it.
Telexico is a competitor, so judge this table on the facts in it: the Onecom column is from its published documents, the Telexico column from how we actually contract.
| What matters | Onecom | Telexico |
|---|---|---|
| Contract term and notice | Per order form; continues until terminated; 30 or 90 days’ notice depending on product | Rolling 30-day terms available, or 12 months where handsets are included; the term and notice period written on the first page of the proposal |
| Price rises | CPI + 3.9% each April (minimum 3.9%); no exit right | No mid-contract price rises |
| Leaving early | Remaining charges at undiscounted rate plus subsidy clawback; £495 order cancellation | Discussed openly before you sign; we plan switches around existing end dates |
| Handsets and equipment | Often financed via a third party; subsidies clawed back on early exit | Standard SIP handsets you are not locked to; on 12-month terms they are included and become yours |
| Who supports you | UK-based desk Mon–Fri 08:30–17:30 (24/7 on some listings); direct and 400+ partners | A named UK engineer; the person who set you up answers |
| Installation | National; partner-led | On-site from Wolverhampton across the Midlands; UK partner engineers elsewhere |
| What sits on one bill | Mobile-led: Vodafone fleets plus UC, data and IT | Phones, full fibre or leased line, WiFi, 4G/5G failover, CCTV and AI on one bill |
| Published price | Quote-based; price guide shows Vox One £9.99 and Vox Standard £24.99 per line | One per-user price per month quoted in writing before you sign, UK calls included; set-up and number porting free |

Who Onecom suits, and when to stay.
Who Onecom genuinely suits
Onecom suits a mobile-heavy business that wants a large Vodafone fleet managed alongside its phones and IT under one account manager, and that negotiates terms carefully. Its Trustpilot profile showed 4.0 from over 13,000 reviews on 7 October 2026.
Why people look elsewhere
People look for an Onecom alternative because of the April CPI + 3.9% increases with no right to leave, the 90-day notice on data products, termination charges calculated on undiscounted prices plus subsidy clawback, and the account changes that come with fourteen acquisitions in six years.
When to stay put
If your Vodafone fleet pricing is genuinely good and your minimum term has more than a year to run, stay for now, request the current General Terms and your order form, and get the subsidy balance in writing so you know the real cost of moving later.
The main alternatives to Onecom in 2026.
Each suits a different kind of business. Ours is first; we have said plainly who the others are for.
Telexico: managed and local
A fully managed hosted phone system with the Telexico Mobile App, Web UC and standard desk phones, one per-user price quoted in writing, rolling 30-day terms available, no mid-contract price rises, your numbers ported, and a named UK engineer. Add full fibre or a leased line, WiFi, 4G/5G failover, CCTV and AI call answering on the same bill.
Gamma Horizon through a good partner
A solid hosted platform if you find a responsive reseller; many of the suppliers on this page sell it. You are still dealing through a partner, so judge the partner, not the platform.
RingCentral or 8x8
Enterprise cloud platforms with deep contact-centre tooling. Best for larger or international operations; more than most UK SMEs need.
Microsoft Teams Phone
Sensible if your business already lives in Microsoft 365. Telexico can supply Teams calling too, so this is not an either/or.
Self-service VoIP (bOnline, Yay.com)
Cheap and quick for a micro business happy to set everything up itself, with no on-site install or local support.
3CX, self-hosted or managed
A software PBX that is inexpensive at scale if you have IT to run it, or a partner such as Telexico to manage it for you.
How the switch from Onecom works.
1. Review
Send your Onecom bill and the terms or renewal you have been offered. We list your numbers, users and end dates, and tell you what we would change, what it costs and whether staying is the better move.
2. Build alongside
We configure the new system, ship desk phones and set up the Telexico Mobile App while Onecom keeps running. Nothing is switched off early.
3. Port and cut over
Your numbers port on an agreed date, usually one to three weeks from authorisation, with both systems tested side by side. Your named engineer stays with you afterwards.

What Onecom’s published terms say.
Quoted or closely paraphrased from Onecom’s own terms, prices and published pages on the dates shown, with a link under each point. Clauses change: read the version attached to your own order before relying on anything here.
Minimum term and notice
The 2025 General Terms set no default term: the Minimum Term is whatever the order form says. There is no automatic renewal clause; the contract continues until the greater of 30 days’ notice and the service notice period, ending on the last day of a month.
SourceThe annual rise
Clause 22.7.4: an increase each April of up to January’s CPI plus 3.9% (3.9% if CPI is negative), and increases at any time to pass on supplier cost rises. Small-business contracts from 17 January 2025 change “as detailed in the Order Form”.
SourceLeaving early
Termination charges are the recurring charges to the end of the minimum term plus any waived installation, porting and cessation fees and “Subsidy” sums clawed back.
SourceSupport
“A named and dedicated account manager”, live chat 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, a WhatsApp number answered the next working morning out of hours, and a five-business-hour return-to-service target on full fibre. UK-based is not stated.
SourceReviews
Trustpilot “Onecom”: 3.7 out of 5 from 13,781 reviews (85% five-star, 10% one-star). Thirteen acquisitions since 2020, Gradwell the latest in July 2025; LDC-backed.
SourceThe notice window is the whole game.
No auto-renewal, which is a point in Onecom’s favour: give notice of at least 30 days (or the service notice period if longer) to end on the last day of a month, and check the order form for the minimum term you signed. Tell us the date and we port on it.
Tell us your end date →Months away? The date goes into the director’s diary and we come back before the window closes, with a written quote to compare against the renewal.
Four things that are the same on every Telexico agreement.
Rolling 30-day terms, or 12 months where handsets are included; the term and the notice period are written on the first page of the proposal. There is no automatic renewal clause: when a term ends you stay on 30-day rolling, nothing re-ties you for another year.
The per-user price you sign is the price for the term. There is no April uplift clause in a Telexico agreement.
Numbers port across on an agreed date, the new system runs alongside the old one until it is tested, and nothing is switched off early.
A named engineer and account manager from Wolverhampton, a WhatsApp group for your team, and a UK phone line answered by people who know your sites.
Trustpilot score shown for Onecom: 3.7 out of 5 from 13,781 reviews on 14 October 2026 (Trustpilot). Telexico is a competitor; judge the points above on the documents linked, not on us.

Onecom alternatives: your questions.
Can I leave Onecom when the price goes up in April?
Not under the General Terms: the CPI + 3.9% increase is written into the contract and the terms state it does not give a right to terminate. Small-business regulated contracts signed from 17 January 2025 follow the order form instead, so check which applies to you.
What is a Subsidy Recovery Charge?
Where Onecom funded handsets or other kit through a Technology Fund or similar, leaving early triggers repayment of the subsidy plus an administration charge, on top of the remaining recurring charges at the undiscounted rate.
Do I lose my Vodafone mobiles if I move the phones?
No. Network-billed mobile contracts sit with the network operator, so the phone system and the mobile fleet can be moved on different dates. We can also supply business SIMs on the major networks on the same bill as the phones.
How does Telexico handle the switch?
Review of your bill and terms first, including the honest answer if staying is better. Then the new system is built alongside Onecom, numbers port on an agreed date, and your named UK engineer stays with you afterwards.
Compared the same way: dated terms, published prices, who each one suits.
