Microsoft Teams Calling for UK business.Turn Teams into your phone system.
Most UK businesses already use Microsoft Teams for chat and meetings. Adding Teams Calling turns it into your full business phone system — make and receive external calls from Teams on any device, with proper UK numbers, call recording, and Telexico support behind it.
What we hear every week.
The frustrations behind why businesses search for microsoft teams calling for business in the first place. If any of these feel familiar, the fix is straightforward.
"We use Teams for everything except external calls."
Teams handles internal chat, video, screen-share — but external phone calls go through a separate phone system. Two systems to maintain. Inconsistent user experience.
"Microsoft Calling Plans are expensive."
Microsoft's own UK calling plans cost a premium. For most UK businesses, direct routing through a UK provider is significantly cheaper with equal or better features.
"We want UK numbers and UK billing."
Microsoft routes calls internationally by default. UK businesses often prefer UK-based call routing, UK number ranges, and UK invoicing — easier compliance, better support.
"Our phone system doesn't integrate with Teams."
Switching between Teams and a legacy phone system every time you make a call kills productivity. Calls should happen where you're already working — and for most UK offices, that's Teams.
How Teams Calling with direct routing works.
Microsoft Teams Phone supports 'direct routing' — third-party providers (like us) deliver the underlying phone service while Teams provides the interface. You make and receive external calls from Teams on any device (desktop, mobile, browser), with proper UK landline numbers, full call recording, UK billing. Microsoft licensing required (Teams Phone, included in some E5/Business Voice bundles). We provide the carrier-grade routing, you stay in Teams.

Six things our customers consistently tell us matter.
Calls in Teams, where you work
Make and receive external calls in the Teams app you already use every day. Desktop, mobile, browser — same interface, same contacts.
Cheaper than Microsoft Calling Plans
Direct routing through a UK provider typically costs significantly less than Microsoft's own UK Calling Plans. Same Teams experience, lower bill.
UK numbers, UK billing
UK landline numbers in your local area code, calls routed through UK infrastructure, UK invoicing, UK support. Easier compliance, easier accounting.
Call recording
GDPR-compliant call recording integrated into Teams Phone. Specific calls, all calls, training calls — configurable. Encrypted storage, secure retrieval.
Call analytics
Volume, peak times, answer rates, missed calls — all available in our portal alongside Teams' own analytics. Useful for management visibility.

Caller ID resolved against Microsoft 365 contacts. Click-to-call from Outlook. Call logs sync with Microsoft 365 activity. Works as part of your existing stack.

Frequently asked questions
What Microsoft licences do I need for Teams Calling?
Microsoft Teams Phone licence required per user (typically a few pounds per user per month from Microsoft, included in some Microsoft 365 bundles). We provide the underlying call routing service on top. Your existing Microsoft 365 licences usually cover the basics. Check current Microsoft pricing for the latest.
Will my existing UK numbers transfer?
Yes — we port your existing UK landline numbers (and 0800/0345 if you have them) across to the direct routing platform. Porting takes 5-10 working days, your existing system stays live during transition.
How is this cheaper than Microsoft's own Calling Plans?
Microsoft Calling Plans include calling minutes through Microsoft's infrastructure. Direct routing through a UK provider like us is typically significantly cheaper for equivalent or higher call volumes, with the same Teams user experience. The cost difference grows with call volume.
Can users still make calls if Teams is down?
Configurable failover: calls can route to mobile apps, alternative numbers, or our own fallback infrastructure. Teams itself rarely fails, but for compliance-critical or revenue-critical use cases we set up specific failover paths.
Does call recording work in Teams Phone?
Yes — GDPR-compliant call recording integrated into the Teams Phone flow. Configurable per user, per department, or globally. Encrypted storage, secure retrieval, configurable retention.
What about analogue devices — door entry, alarms, lift phones?
Direct routing supports analogue line termination via ATA gateways for door phones, lift phones, fire alarm dialler lines, fax machines (still in some industries). We handle these alongside the main Teams Calling setup.
How long does setup take?
Most direct routing deployments take 7-10 working days from order — including number porting, Teams tenant configuration, user provisioning and testing. Migration from existing PBX runs in parallel so there's no service disruption.
