Guest WiFi for UK restaurants.Fast, separated, monetised.
Guest WiFi is now table-stakes in restaurants — but most setups are an afterthought. Customers complain, EPOS gets slowed, marketing data goes uncaptured. Telexico guest WiFi gives restaurants proper coverage, separated business network, branded captive portal, and a way to turn WiFi connections into a marketing list.
What we hear every week.
The frustrations behind why businesses search for guest wifi for restaurants in the first place. If any of these feel familiar, the fix is straightforward.
"Customers ask for the WiFi password every visit."
Manual password sharing is friction. Customers ask staff, staff are mid-service, scribbled WiFi cards lose effectiveness, password gets shared on Google Reviews anyway.
"Guest WiFi slows our EPOS."
Single router, no separation, customers streaming on guest network slows down card payments and EPOS sync. Service team feels the pain at peak.
"We give away free WiFi and capture nothing."
Every customer connects. Every customer is a potential repeat visitor. Without a captive portal, you have zero data on them, no marketing list, no follow-up campaign.
"Beer garden has no coverage."
Customers in the beer garden lose signal completely. They scroll, give up, ask for the bill earlier than they would otherwise. Lost upsell, lost dwell time.
How proper restaurant guest WiFi works.
Survey of the restaurant — front of house, bar, terrace/beer garden, private dining. Mesh of enterprise APs covering every guest space. Business network (EPOS, card payments, kitchen displays) on a separate VLAN — guest streaming can't slow it. Branded captive portal where customers connect, optionally provide email/phone for marketing. GDPR-compliant. Bandwidth per-user limits if needed. Content filtering for liability protection.
The Telexico approach to guest wifi for restaurants.
Six things our customers consistently tell us matter.
Every-seat coverage
Front of house, bar, terrace, beer garden, private dining — designed from survey, every customer area covered.
Branded captive portal
Your logo, your colours, your menu link, your social handles. Customers connect through your brand experience, not a generic WiFi login.
Marketing list build
Optional email/phone capture at connect. GDPR-compliant consent. Direct integration with Mailchimp, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign — marketing list grows automatically.
Separated from EPOS
Guest network on its own VLAN. Customers streaming Netflix can't slow card payments or kitchen display. Business systems prioritised.
Content filtering + liability
Block adult content, illegal streaming, malicious sites. Per-device audit trail for liability cases. Reduce restaurant liability exposure.
Usage analytics
See peak WiFi times, repeat customer connections, dwell time correlations. Useful for staffing, menu timing, marketing campaigns.
Built around restaurant operations.
Restaurant WiFi is operationally different from office WiFi. Customers are temporary, network needs to support peak service density, guest streaming needs to not slow EPOS, marketing capture is a genuine revenue opportunity. We design for that — not retrofit an office template.
How it works for businesses like yours.
Three real-world setups we deliver across the UK.
60-cover bistro
3 APs covering FOH + bar + terrace + private dining. Captive portal collecting emails for re-booking campaigns. Email list grew significantly in first 6 months typical.
Pizzeria + takeaway
FOH coverage + takeaway waiting area + drivers' waiting area. Marketing capture for loyalty programme signup. Repeat-order ratio improvements measurable within months.
Restaurant group, 4 sites
Consistent captive portal branding across all four sites. Combined marketing list spans the group. Per-site analytics on guest WiFi usage. Single supplier, single support team.
Built for UK hospitality.
We deliver guest WiFi for restaurants across the UK — independents, multi-site groups, gastropubs, takeaways. Site survey before every install. Enterprise APs that don't reboot themselves during service. Marketing portal integrations with the platforms you actually use.
What you actually get from Telexico.
Honest about scope. No aggressive sales tactics, no surprise renewal jumps, no tier-1 call-centre triage. Real UK engineers, transparent pricing, one provider relationship across the stack.
UK-based provider
Wolverhampton-headquartered. Engineers cover the West Midlands daily; UK-wide install via our partner network. Real UK engineer support, UK data residency, UK contractual relationship — not US-routed SaaS.
Real engineer support
When you call Telexico, you reach someone who can actually fix things. Response SLA backed by real engineering capacity rather than call-centre headcount. Named account manager for ongoing customers.
Free infrastructure review
Every engagement starts with a no-obligation audit of your current setup. Honest recommendation — sometimes that's "stay with your current provider after negotiation." We'd rather be honest than oversell.
Transparent pricing
What you sign for is what you pay — including renewal. No teaser pricing that jumps 30-100% at year two. No mid-contract CPI shock. Predictable multi-year cost from day one.
One provider, one platform
Broadband, hosted VoIP, business WiFi, AI Receptionist, 4G/5G failover, CCTV consolidated onto one Telexico relationship. Single bill, single support number, single engineer when something needs attention.
Migration project-managed
Switching to Telexico isn't DIY. We handle contract audit, notice timing, ordering, parallel running, cutover, old-provider close-out. Customer-visible disruption typically measured in minutes.

Frequently asked questions
How does the captive portal capture marketing data?
Customer connects to your WiFi, branded portal page loads with your logo. Customer enters email (or social login — Facebook, Google) and consents to marketing. Data flows into your Mailchimp/HubSpot/CRM automatically. GDPR-compliant by design.
Will it slow my EPOS or card payments?
No — guest WiFi runs on a separate VLAN, isolated from business systems. Customers streaming can't slow card processing or EPOS sync. We design this separation from day one.
How long does it take to install?
Most single-site restaurant installs are completed in 1 day on-site, plus a few days of planning and equipment prep. Multi-site groups roll out site-by-site, typically a site per week. We schedule around service hours.
What about beer gardens and outdoor seating?
Outdoor coverage is part of the survey. Weather-rated outdoor APs available for beer gardens, terraces, courtyards. Some setups use directional antennas pointed at outdoor areas; others use dedicated outdoor APs.
Can I limit bandwidth per customer?
Yes — configurable. Some restaurants set a per-device cap (e.g. 5Mbps per customer) so no single guest can saturate the network. Others run unlimited. We configure to your preference.
What if a customer streams illegal content on our WiFi?
Content filtering blocks the most common illegal categories at network level. Plus per-device audit trail for any subsequent disputes. Significantly reduces restaurant liability exposure.
Will it work for outdoor weddings or private events?
Event-grade capacity available. For one-off events we can bring portable APs to extend coverage temporarily. For permanent venues with regular events, the install includes the event area properly.
