Telexico portal: router connections, WAN status and LTE failover details
Failover, livePrimary line, backup SIM and the switch-over between them, visible in the Telexico portal.
How failover works

When the line fails, the SIM takes over.

The router carries two routes at once. Traffic uses the fibre; if that line drops, the 4G/5G route takes over automatically and the portal raises the alert, so phones, card machines and cloud apps carry on.

The backup SIM roams across the main UK networks, so it joins whichever signal is strongest at your address.

ASSURE X · FAILOVER HARDWARE

When the internet dies,
your business doesn't.

Assure X is the 4G/5G router range behind Telexico's failover deployments. The second your fixed line drops, it cuts over to mobile — card machines keep taking payments, phones keep ringing — and most teams only find out from the alert email.

Two models · one job

Pick the muscle your site needs.

Assure X LTE6

The dependable workhorse

Cat-6 LTE up to 300Mbps, WiFi 6 AX1800, 4× gigabit + 1× 2.5G Ethernet. Rated −40°C to 70°C with a ~200,000-hour MTBF — built to sit in a comms cabinet for years and just work. Right for most shops, offices and practices.

Assure X 5G

The performance model

Full 5G (SA/NSA) with LTE Cat-20 fallback — up to 2Gbps — 4×4 MIMO, WiFi 6, the same industrial passive-cooled build. For sites where the backup line carries the whole business at speed: busy hospitality, multi-till retail, larger offices.

Automatic cutover

Watches your fixed line and switches the moment it fails — then back when service returns. No one touches anything.

Multi-network SIMs

Roams EE, Vodafone, O2 and Three — the strongest signal at your postcode wins, not whichever network you signed with.

Zero-touch managed

Firmware, diagnostics and config handled remotely by our UK engineers. You get uptime; we do the tending.

Telexico, in use

When the line drops, nothing else does.

  • Multi-network SIM roams to the strongest signal
  • Switch-over is automatic and monitored
  • Phones, card machines and cloud apps stay live

Which model fits depends on your line speed, site size and what has to survive an outage — we specify it as part of the failover design, not as a box off a shelf.

Questions we're asked

Assure X, answered.

Does Assure X switch over automatically?

Yes. The router monitors your fixed line continuously and cuts over to 4G/5G the moment it fails, then returns to the fixed line when service is restored. No manual intervention is needed.

Which networks does the failover use?

We pair Assure X with multi-network SIMs that roam across EE, Vodafone, O2 and Three, connecting to the strongest signal at your site rather than a single network.

Will my card machines and phones keep working in an outage?

That is the point of the design: payments, VoIP calls and cloud apps continue over the mobile connection. We size the model — LTE6 or 5G — to the load your site needs to carry.

Do I need to manage the router?

No. Every Assure X we supply is remotely monitored and managed by Telexico's UK engineers, including firmware and configuration.

Downtime is a choice. Choose against it.

Tell us what must survive an outage — tills, phones, bookings — and we'll design the Assure X setup that keeps it alive. Quoted with your failover design, installed by our engineers.

How the hybrid router works

A primary fixed line, a secondary cellular line, and nothing in between.

The Telexico failover router has a primary fixed connection (any broadband or leased line) and a secondary cellular data connection. If the primary fails, the secondary takes over instantly and seamlessly: even a phone call in progress does not drop. When the fixed line returns, it switches back.

The same public IP, always

The static public IP address is the same on the primary and the secondary connection, so remote access, CCTV, VPNs and hosted systems carry on without reconfiguration.

Data SIM included

The cellular SIM is included in the monthly subscription, and there are no data charges to worry about when the primary line fails.

Set up in minutes

Connect your phone to the router’s WiFi, enter the admin password from the label, and the router pulls its settings from the cloud. Everything after that is managed in the portal.

24/7 central management

Check WAN connection status, manage port forwarding, configure wireless, run fixed-line and cellular diagnostics, and see real-time device usage, with secure 2FA access.

Usage by device

Drill down by device IP address to see how much data each device is using and which websites it is visiting.

Where it matters most

Card machines, cloud phones, CCTV monitoring, remote IT support and any operation that relies on the internet staying up.
