Setting up a business VoIP phone system with Telexico takes 1–5 working days. Here's exactly what's involved — and what we handle for you.
Decide whether you want desk phones, softphones (PC/mobile apps), or both. Most businesses use a mix — desk phones for the office, mobile apps for staff who travel. Telexico provides Yealink handsets which are pre-configured and posted directly to your address.
If you want to keep your existing number, we submit a port request to your current provider. This takes 5–10 working days. During porting, your existing line remains live — calls don't drop. We'll give you a temporary number to use immediately.
Telexico configures your auto-attendant, hunt groups, voicemail, call recording and any custom routing before go-live. You receive login credentials to manage the system yourself going forward — or we manage it for you on an ongoing basis.
Once phones arrive and numbers have ported, you're live. The typical timeline from order to fully live is 5–10 working days. For urgent deployments, we can provision softphone accounts within hours.
Each VoIP call uses approximately 100Kbps. A 10Mbps broadband connection can handle 100 simultaneous calls theoretically — in practice, any business broadband of 50Mbps+ is more than sufficient. We recommend a QoS-configured router (supplied by Telexico) to prioritise VoIP traffic.
